We tasted some of the BEST food we’ve ever had during our stay in Porto…no exaggeration. We had the most fun time eating our way through Porto, and drinking all the wine! 😉 So we decided to create this Porto food guide!
Our taste buds were overwhelmed and quite spoiled with super fresh, flavorful, and full-of-soul foods. To be quite honest, they may or may not currently be salivating just reminiscing on all of the yummy Porto food!
But first things first, here’s a tip — If you’re traveling to Porto in the high season of summertime, we HIGHLY recommend calling ahead or making reservations online! They’re definitely worth the wait, but why not save some time so you can experience even more of what Porto has to offer?! 😉
Out of all the restaurants we tried, these were the top of our list…we even went back to some twice because they were that good!
Be warned, we are not responsible for tummy growls, extreme salivation, or jaw dropping! ;p
Zenith: The Best Breakfast/Brunch
The brunch hotspot in Porto, you may need to wait in line for Zenith. Don’t worry, girl, it goes quickly and is definitely worth it!
With perfect combinations of healthy and tasty options, Zenith has a solid brunch menu with creative dishes. Their Dulce de Leche pancakes and coffee are definite must-tries! Trust us, they’re crazy delicious! 😉
We highly recommend grabbing a spot on their cute outdoor patio. The combination of great food and fresh air makes for a mesmerizing morning you didn’t know you needed!
Nicolau: The Best Casual Lunch
Nicolau is by far our favorite casual lunch spot. We ate here practically everyday…No joke, it’s that good!
They have delicious and healthy options like shrimp tacos, chicken bowls, salads, veggie burgers, and SO much more! Can you hear our tummies growling yet? ;p
Plus, they have the cutest location on a street corner in the town of Cedofeita! AND they’re right around the corner from our fave coworking space, Selina Navis!
We definitely recommend grabbing a coffee, ordering some tasty grub, and sitting on their outdoor patio! The peaceful and fresh environment will refuel, inspire, and motivate you all at once!
Vinum: The Best Upscale Lunch
Looking for a beautiful, upscale lunch? Head to Vinum, the restaurant at Graham’s Port House overlooking all of Porto and the famous Douro River!
The restaurant is set inside a greenhouse! Cool, right?! They have delicious, fresh options and set menus with desserts and port pairings! Who doesn’t love a marriage between wine and food?! ;p
Feeling indecisive on what to order? Our favorite port is the Graham’s 30 Year Tawny. Give it a try, girl!

Located in a beautifully-restored neo-Arab style building, Flow offers a tasteful mix of Mediterranean, Portuguese, and Japanese flavors.
The restaurant, bar, and terrace offer beautiful spots for dinner with living room style seating, brick walls, and modern upscale mediterranean vibes.
We ordered delicious local, fresh fish and wine, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu!!
Tapabento: The Best Home-Cooked Dinner
There’s a reason this tiny place is always jam-packed; TapaBento has the best shrimp we’ve EVER tasted!
They’re a local hotspot and offer Portuguese home-cooking with So. Much. Soul! Their incredibly tiny dining space paired with the comfort of their amazing food and service, makes you feel oh so cozy! 😉
If you don’t speak Portugese, you’re in luck! At TapaBento, they also speak Spanish, French, English, Italian, German, Russian and Lithuanian! Pretty impressive, right?!
Also, if you feel like wrapping up your shrimp dinner with a dessert, their peanut butter mousse is a definite must-try!
ODE Porto Wine House: The Best Romantic Dinner Splurge
Looking for a dressy night out? ODE Porto Wine House is quite the romantic dinner splurge!
They offer “tapiscos” or a tapas-style dinner with set menu items, wine pairings, and a creative spin on local Portugese dishes. They have a slow-food style, so be prepared to spend a few hours enjoying some amazingly delicious food! Our dinner lasted three hours!
The waitresses are incredibly knowledgeable about every single item on the menu and they can answer literally any questions you might have!
Inside the restaurant, it feels like you’re in an old-world cavern with exposed wood beams, stone walls, and wine barrels. You could feel the staff’s warmth and passion for what they were creating! It was an incredible experience from food to atmosphere!
And girl, you definitely don’t want to forget the reservation on this one! 😉

Cantina 32 is by far our favorite dinner spot! They’re lively, trendy, and have the most flavorful dishes! You’ll definitely want to come hungry because there are SO many delicious dishes to try…or just go back over and over again! ;p
We highly recommend trying the portobello mushrooms, squid, shrimp, and tuna! Also, do not refuse the bread. We repeat, DO NOT refuse the bread! It is THAT good.
