Today, we’re sitting down with our Bucketlist Bombshells Academy almuni and current Bucketlist Bombshells Collective member Julia Spector, Founder of Impact Design by Julia! Originally from Columbus Ohio, Julia gives us a glimpse into her online business journey…
Q: What type of online business do you own and what services do you offer?
I am a creative marketing specialist who helps entrepreneurs to position their brand & high converting marketing strategies so that they can attract consistent clients and close more sales.
Through utilizing strategic brand positioning, email marketing, social platforms and sales funnels, I help entrepreneurs to authentically marketing their unique talents so that they can bring in new leads and clients when they are feeling overwhelmed & exhausted by the process.
I officially launched my business in 2020 and I have partnered with a variety of amazing clients from creative entrepreneurs, law firms, non-profits, wellness experts, real estate agents, the National Retail Federation as well as other clients. The creative services that I have worked with these clients in include consultations, branding, social media strategy & design, video editing, web design, email marketing and overall marketing strategy.
I am also in the works of launching a 3-month program, Marketing Made Magnetic for early to middle stage coaches and service-based entrepreneurs who want to feel confident in their brand positioning and marketing strategy so that they can attract consistent clients and close more sales.
Q: What inspired you to enroll in the Bucketlist Bombshells Courses and then join the Bucketlist Bombshells Collective?
I was inspired by the idea of creating something of my own and having a bigger impact! Creating a life of my dreams where I can find balance and do something that I love.
I learned so much in terms of both mindset as well as technical skill and online tools that help me to run my business.
Q: How long was it until you landed your first client online?
A couple months, through personal connections, posting on Facebook and having family friends and other connections reaching out to me.
Q: What is your process for finding and landing clients online?
I show up online with my personal brand, as well as integrate what I am doing into conversations. Most of my clients have all come to me through referrals as I am showing up with confidence and as an expert in my field.

Q: What has been your biggest setback and how did you overcome it?
My biggest setback was overcoming stress and burnout. I have overcome this through self-care practices such as having a morning and evening routine and practicing yoga and pilates. I also have always been open to pivoting and changing directions when I feel that a path that I am on is not leading to where I want to be (I have pivoted multiple times in my business and am finding the path of best alignment).
Q: What’s the most challenging part about running your online biz?
The most challenging part is just having enough time in the day! I have overcome this through time blocking, taking action even when I feel not 100% ready, as well as prioritizing most important tasks. I am currently dedicating evening and weekend time as I am in the growth phase of my business and am working with clients, launching a group program, as well as planning a retreat!
Q: Looking back on your online business journey, what is something that you’re most proud of?
I am very proud of my dedication to each client that I have worked with. I feel so grateful to have worked with such a variety of clients from smaller entrepreneurs to larger organizations. I am always grateful to receive raving reviews as I love building connections and creating a lasting, long-term impact for my clients through my business Impact Design by Julia. I am also so proud at my perseverance through the tough times, ability to pivot and improving my ability to face rejection when I receive a no in business.
Q: If you could speak to your past self, what piece of advice would you give her?
I would give my past self the advice to keep following my intuition and to have confidence in myself as I have so much to offer.
Q: How do you stay inspired and motivated to run your online biz?
I stay inspired and motivation through my method of defining my vision and goal setting. I also gain inspiration through connecting with like-minded entrepreneurs. Joining communities and masterminds, as well as reading books that inspire me!
Q: Tell us what a “day in the life” looks like for you now that you’re running your own online biz!
I start the day off with a powerful morning routine to put me in the best possible headspace to set myself up for success. I then eat breakfast and look at my list to determine my priorities for that day / what is most important for me to accomplish this day before getting to work. I also advocate for taking break in the day to re-energize yourself, such as having a snack, exercising, going on a walk… I end the day with my evening routine and usually some self care, such as doing a face mask 🙂
Q: What’s the best part about being your own boss?
I love the ability to create a larger impact and to have something that is entirely my own that I can feel so proud that I created.
Q: What do you love most about the work you do and the clients you work with?
I love connecting with others and taking a deep dive into what is going on right now for them and how I can make a difference so that they can thrive in their business. It feels so meaningful to me when I am able to connect and inspire others!
Q: What is your favorite destination to work remotely from?
I love working from my family’s home in Sarasota, FL. It is just so beautiful there and I love getting to be in the sun and close to a beach. I truly feel so re-charged whenever I am there!
Q: What’s your favorite business tool that you’d recommend to other aspiring or current business owners? Why do you love it?
In the past few months, I have started diving into Kartra and am loving all of the connectivity within this platform. I am using Kartra to host my course platform, landing pages, sales pages, check out processes, sales funnels, email marketing as well as the affiliate program that I am launching. There is truly so much that this platform has to offer. I love using the AI powered tool, Descript for video editing recently, it saves me so much time compared to in the past when I would use Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. I am also a huge advocate for using all of the features within Canva! I am using Canva a lot right now to design logo and social post templates, worksheets and slideshows for the program that I am launching, Marketing Made Magnetic. I even have created and ordered both thank you cards and business cards for different clients just through Canva.
Q: What is one of your favorite business books that you would recommend to another business owner and why do you love it?
I would recommend reading: Discover Your Dharma by Sahara Rose, it is so inspiring and helps your to discover your life purpose and path. I would also recommend Chillprenuer by Denise Duffield Thomas as there is such amazing and tactical advice here.

Q: What is your number one piece of advice for aspiring Bucketlist Bombshells?
Follow your intuition and trust yourself. You are given your vision for your business for a reason, you are meant to make it happen!
