In this guide, we’re covering our absolute favorite places to sip, pamper and play as a digital nomad chica in Canggu — we’ve done all the hard work for you 😉 So let’s get to it!

BEST BEACH BARS IN CANGGU
One of our favorite things to do in Canggu is relax, sip cocos and watch the sunset at one of the many beach bars that dot the coast!
THE LAWN
The Lawn is chic, casual and effortlessly cool all in one. It’s the perfect place to relax poolside with a cocktail or coconut in hand to watch the sunset. The island modern decor, sea breeze and tunes make the perfect backdrop to a Bali afternoon! On Friday nights especially, The Lawn is the place to be.
OLD MAN’S
Sitting right on Batu Bolong beach, Old Man’s is a famous beach bar smack dab in the center of Canggu. Super chill, casual vibes and perfect for an after work Bintang (an Indonesian beer that you must try). They also have DJ’s and parties, particularly gets packed on Wednesday evenings!
LA BRISA
Imagine a giant shipwrecked chic, bohemian beach bar with bean bags, knitted hammocks and stringing lights…that’s La Brisa in a nutshell. It’s the hotspot to catch the sunset, drink in hand while watching the surfers do their thang. It’s on the pricier end of beach spots in town, so you may be required to spend a minimum and indulge in some of their treats. But it’s oh-so worth it.
LA LAGUNA
If you’re looking for a romantic, gypsy-inspired beach club, La Laguna is the place to be. One step onto their property and you’ll instantly be transported into a mystical experience. Perfect for a date night!
THE BEST SPAS IN CANGGU
Because a girl can never have too many massages, you’re in for a real treat in the Gu! Not only are spa treatments incredibly affordable (i.e. approx. $15 for a one hour Balinese massage), they are highly encouraged…by yours truly!
THE BEST NAIL SPA: THINK PINK NAILS
This is hands-down our favorite nail salon — it’s located a bit outside Canggu, on your way to Seminyak but it is absolutely worth the drive! Think Pink is a New York City styled nail parlour right in Bali — they have plush massage chairs & impeccable service. Our nails have never looked so perfect. Plus, you can enjoy a glass or champagne or a coconut while you indulge!
THE BEST NAIL ART: MARIA CURAU
If you’re looking to get dolled up and do something a little special with your manicure, then you have to stop by Maria Curau. All of their nail polishes are non-toxic, cruelty-free, and vegan. Be sure you carve out enough time in your schedule to fully enjoy the massage, plush couches, hand-painted nail art and rice paddy views!
BEST MASSAGE: THERAPY
Therapy is our go-to spa for the absolute best massage in Canggu. No joke — it’s not just a TripAdvisor rating 😉 It’s literally a one minute walk from the Dojo Coworking space and you’ll step into a quiet, serene and dimly lit spa of pure relaxation and bliss. Be sure to book a massage appointment one day before because they book up quick!
BEST HAIR SALON: HAIR BALI
Whether you’re looking for a fresh cut or to try a new fun color, HAIR has got you covered. They cater to both men and women, and their team of international stylists and colorists have the experience to give you that new look you’ve been desperately needing! We’ve even tested out their full Keratin treatment…life-changing to tame those frizzies in the humid weather.
BEST FACIAL: GOLDUST BEAUTY LOUNGE
These ladies will keep you looking your best with legit facials, eyelash extensions, hair spas and more. This Aussie run spa is our fave for beauty needs — be sure to book at GoldDust beforehand to grab a spot though! Highly recommend the Deep Cleanse Facial and the Hair Spa Bath! After your treatment, spend some time in their serene lounge sipping on some ginger tea and fresh watermelon.
BEST BLOWOUT: SPRING SPA
Another fab spa in the Gu, Spring Spa hands down has the best, in-n-out blowout. Enjoy a fresh juice or bubbly from their boho bar and take a seat in their spa while their team does a quick makeover on your mane. This place is also oh-so Insta-worthy with a gorgeous pond that runs through the spa, hanging vines, white washed walls and touches of tropical decor.
BEST GYMS TO SWEAT IT OUT
It’s important to step away from that computer screen and get yo body movin’! There’s a variety of options to get your work out on. Here are our faves:
CROSSFIT WANDERLUST
Crossfit Wanderlust is a world-famous crossfit facility that has a strong community of international members and attracts some of the top crossfitters from around the world! It’s also for newbies like us, but be ready to get your booty absolutely kicked. It’s the largest crossfit gym in Bali, and does not disappoint!
CANGGU STUDIO
Canggu Studio is a cute holistic fitness studio that offers a variety of group classes like pilates, barre, yoga, dance classes and more! They are all about making you feel good: body, mind and soul.
AVENUE FITNESS
Avenue Fitness is located in the center of Canggu and is your typical gym setup with free weights, treadmills and other exercise equipment to keep yourself movin’ and feelin’ good. They also have a variety of classes you can join.
BALI MMA
If you’re looking to mix up your workout routine with some martial arts, then look no further than Bali MMA. They offer group classes for all levels in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
BEST YOGA STUDIOS
Bali is an absolute haven for yoga studios — and Canggu is home to a handful of incredible yoga shalas: think open-air bamboo studios and sunset flow classes to refresh and recharge your body and mind.
THE PRACTICE
It’s no surprise that The Practice is the most popular yoga studio in Canggu with it’s stunning bamboo yoga shala that overlooks the jungle. They have a wide variety of classes each day for beginners to advanced yogis, plus they host presentations and workshops not just evolve your practice, but also your life!
SAMADI YOGA
Samadi Yoga is a sweet yoga studio right down the street from the Dojo Coworking Space. Samadi also has an organic cafe with yummy vegetarian eats. Make sure you ask for the class discount if you’re a Dojo coworking space member!
DESA SENI
Desa Seni is a stunning village and yoga resort and a great spot to find your zen and get your down dog on in paradise! The yoga shala is located on this stunning resort property that’s designed like a giant tropical garden filled with quaint cottages.
TAKE A SURF LESSON
If you didn’t already guess it — Canggu is a major surf spot. Batu Bolong Beach, Echo Beach and Berawa beach are all popular surf spots in town. Once you head down to the beach, there are plenty of little local warungs to rent a board or if you’re a total newb, take a surf lesson…like yours truly!
Early mornings in Canggu are filled with people jumpin’ on their scooters with their boards and headed to catch some waves — it’s on our favorite things and total Bali vibes.

VOLUNTEER AT A LOCAL ORGANIZATION
Working with a cause that you care about while traveling gives you a whole different level of connection to the community and the place you’re visiting! Some of our favorite organizations in Canggu are:
MERAH PUTI HIJAU
Merah Puti Hijau is a green village project helping the local community to build an infrastructure for waste separation. They are building a recycling and composting facility in the neighboring village of Pererenan and a framework that will be replicated across Bali.
BALI ANIMAL WELFARE ASSOCIATION
Volunteering at BAWA means that you’ll help save the lives of Bali’s animals. They are a small organization that relies on volunteers to help their mission.
STELLA’S CHILD
Stella’s Child is an organization helping disadvantaged Indonesian children to gain the self-confidence, career guidance and business savvy they need to escape poverty.
