We are so saddened by the recent acts of hate and violence that the Asian-American community has experienced.

There have been 3,795 hate related incidents reported over the past year according to @stopaapihate – and most recently the deadly attacks against Asian-American women in Atlanta.

We have to work collectively to end racism – to dismantle our biases and actively work to create spaces, communities, and businesses where everyone feels heard, welcomed and supported.

To the AAPI women in our community, we are standing alongside you. ❤️
Last month, Cass and I vowed we were going to try to become “winter people”. You know? The people who looove and crave the chilly air and the cozy snowy vibes, and very specifically...winter sports. Enter: Our very first snowboarding lesson. 👀

Now, I don’t know about you, but I hate being new at things. My helmet and googles felt uncomfortable. I had a hundred layers of clothing on, followed by massive boots that felt like I was about to walk on the moon. Finally, I had a giant snowboard strapped to my feet as I stood on the top of a large snowy mountain.

My thoughts tumbled between, “You totally got this, Shay. You are so sporty!” to “Ugh, why is this sooo freakin’ hard?!” after each fall. I got so frustrated that at one point I literally punched the snow 😅

Let’s be real: Day 1 of anything is hard. It’s awkward. It’s uncomfortable. It’s pretty dang frustrating. Whether it’s snowboarding, starting your own business, designing your first logo, building your first website, taking your first client call, the first day of a new workout plan or lesson 1 of an online course...

It’s easy to give up on Day 1. It’s easy to make excuses and let your fears get the best of you. I’ve learned though that you can’t fast forward through the uncomfortable “Day Ones”. To be great at anything, you’ve gotta start wobbly on the Bunny Hill first.

Trust me, anyone you look up to who is doing the very thing you want to do had to start on Day 1 too — because this is really where the magic of every journey starts. ✨

Are you facing “Day One” of something right now? Share it with me so I can be your Day 1 cheerleader!
Happy International Women’s Day! Today we are celebrating YOU, our incredible community.

We believe that amazing things happen when women come together and support each other — in all corners of the world.

Did you know that the Bucketlist Bombshells Academy student community represents over 60 countries? The women in this community are making a big impact all over the world, and that is definitely something to celebrate.

We are so grateful to connect with and support such incredibly smart, resilient, and powerful women. Swipe to see just some of the women that we’ve had the opportunity to meet up with over the years! We can’t wait until we can meet more of you in person again in the future.

Let’s take today to celebrate each other and to remember to uplift other women with love, grace, and positivity, not just today, but every day. 💛

In todays celebration of Black female entrepreneurs in history, we are sharing the story of Ida B. Wells!

Born into slavery, and freed by the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, Ida moved to Memphis and began working as a teacher. She was determined to speak out about racial injustice and founded the Memphis Free Speech and Headlight Newspaper where she worked as an investigative journalist reporting on racial inequality in America.

Tragically, her newspaper presses were destroyed by a white mob, but she continued her dedication to activism and investigative journalism throughout her life.

After her presses were destroyed, she moved to Chicago and kept writing about racial injustice. Her work continued to get published, and she began working alongside Frederick Douglass as a civil rights leader at a time when it was difficult for women to do so.

She was one of the founding members of the NAACP, was active in the national women’s club movement, and even ran for Illinois State Senate!

Ida faced many challenges and was widely critiqued for being so outspoken about injustice, but that did not stop her from being a prolific and influential civil rights leader throughout her life. ❤️
